Dear Parents,
The Math department of Bishop Schad is requiring students who are entering grades 3 through 8 to complete an Enrichment Math Packet during the summer break. The following is a website based on our textbook and where you download and print the Enrichment Math Packet.
- Go to www.progressinmathematics.com
- At the center of the screen is a box labeled “Student”. Inside this box, incoming 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders click the number of the grade your child will be entering; incoming 7th graders are to click Fundamentals of Algebra; incoming 8th graders are to click Foundations of Algebra.
- The side bar on the left displays Student Center. Go to Skill Update and click.
- A skill update page appears with approximately 20 practice pages. Click “Practice” on the right in order to view and print the page. Please repeat this step to print all Practice pages. The Packet must include all Practice pages.
This is a required packet, which must be completed and submitted to your child’s Math teacher on the first day of school. The focus of the Enrichment Math Packet is to practice and reinforce necessary skills throughout the summer. A good suggestion would be to print out all practice pages and have your child complete approximately 3-5 problems per page a week. This website also has many other resources which may be useful to your child.
